Makalu to Everest  Trek

This challenging trek has to be one of the most spectacular itineraries in Nepal.

Starting in the warm, forested east of Nepal, the trek follows the Arun Valley north into a wild alpine region where you are surrounded by magnificent snow- capped peaks including Makalu, which at 8485m is the fifth highest mountain in the world. On the way the itinerary crosses several high passes, the highest of which is at 6150 metres. The final part of the trek crosses into the Everest region before descending for a flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.

Because of the remote nature of the region this trek will be fully organised with members sleeping in two person tents and all food cooked by our staff. All equipment, except personal equipment, and supplies will be included in the package.  Members will only be expected to carry a light day pack. Members need to have some basic rope handling skills as parts of the trek are of a technical nature.

Some additional options are available which include an extension to visit Everest Base Camp or an ascent of Mera Peak 6164m.

Group size ranges from a minimum of six to a maximum of twelve persons.

The best seasons for this trek are Spring (March to April) or Autumn (October to November)
