The Langtang Valley lies just to the north of Kathmandu and is the closest of the main trekking destinations to the capital.

It offers spectacular mountain scenery and the local people maintain much of their traditional culture.

During the devastating earthquake of 2015 the Langtang Valley was one of the worst hit areas with many of the villages being completely destroyed including most of the trekking lodges.

But now, like the phoenix from the ashes, the valleys’ settlements have been largely restored and the area is once again able to welcome trekkers.

So, if you are looking for a short trek amid breathtaking mountain scenery where you will experience traditional local culture then this trek could be for you.

The standard eleven day trek itinerary can be extended to include other destinations such as the famous lake of Gosainkund making this a circuit back to Kathmandu. The cost includes four extra nights in Kathmandu including sightseeing.
